i think the seeds are way off. well, i understand how seeding works, so i understand why perez is seeded first, BUT i think he will be lucky to place. i am not denying he is an excellent wrestler, he definetely is, but he is facng some tough competition that he is not used to having to face. just the oklahoma boys, phipps, jones, are definietely able to beat him. jones already did, and phipps has beaten jones, like someone already said, so they can both beat him. the out of state competition is very very tough too. but as far as tulsa nationals, i think all of our oklahoma boys are going to be lucky to place at 43. not being negative, i just think this is a tougher weight and i also think phipps and jones both had a better chance placing at 46. phipps placed 5th or 6th at kickoff at 46, sometimes cutting weight doesnt help because they will be so weak, they have no energy and cant wrestle as good. just my opinion though. i also think it is unfair to the kids who are wrestling 43 because that is what they actualy WEIGH to have to wrestle 46 pounders because they work hard all year and someone who deserves 1st wont get it because some kid is coming down a weight. any kid can go down a weight a be a state champ, wrestling smaller kids. im not starting a fight but i think phipps and jones are wrong to go down to 43 for national tournaments OR for state this year. just my opinion.

kids drop down for the big tournaments, its the way it always has been. And I believe phipps mom said he only weighs between 43-44, so thats not really cutting weight. he and many others have probably been wrestling up all year just like perez did last year, so that when the big tournaments do come around, they do better. I dont know about jones, he is pretty stocky, but i know my son has been wrestling 49 all year, and only weighs around 46-47, so we drop down to 46. no use in whining about it, just the way it is. i can understand if a parent is allowing or making their kid lose 5 pounds, but a pound, here or there is not a big deal. It can be accomplised by eating healthy foods and cutting out the sugar! so, back to predictions for nationals anyone?

sorry, im not even on team coweta, but you have to at leaset give pipps the credit he can beat jones! and jones can beat him too, but just wondering why u are so sure at TN that will be the final result. i think myself personally, that phipps and jones will be a BATTLE, like always. and dont count out little perez eiether. he may give phipps and jones a run for their money!!

Who is Franco at 46? I have never heard of him.

He placed at KO TN and RENO last year and he beat Cody Thomas at Reno.

Who cares if he beat Cody Thomas? Even Jared Head beat Cody Thomas and he is a nobody.

I was just wondering how he got the number 1 seed and nobody has heard of him.

Jared Head was not a World all star Cody Thomas was get out of oklahoma and might know who some of this kids are.

Are you insane? Have you ever watched this kid wrestle? Jones or Phipps don't stand a chance against Perez. Perez will place without a doubt.

look, MOM, no one is saying perez isnt a good wrestler, just that he hasnt had tough competition this year. jones has already pinned your boy and phipps beat jones. give credit where credit is due. you need to stop and think that these boys weigh the same as your son, they just chose to wrestle up this year, they could have easily dominated 43 if they were the only good kid in that weight too. im not saying perez CANT beat phipps or jones, im just saying, be realistic. they are good, too as well as some of the out of state boys in this weight. and how could you say they "dont stand a chance" when jones has already pinned him this year? that is just talking ignorantly. think about it?????
